FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND

Footprints in the Sand (1997) was an inter-generational show involving the older people’s theatre company, the Good Companions, and young people aged 8-18 belonging to the Age Exchange Youth Theatre. It was based on the older people’s memories of going to the seaside.

'Footprints in the Sand' was a light-hearted show including preparations for a day trip by steamer on the River Thames (or by train in some cases) the fun of the fair, puppet shows, stalls, swimming in the freezing sea, beach cafes, etc. A small book of the same name, featuring the stories generated by this project was published to go with the show.
