'Just Like The Country' was adapted and directed by Clare Summerskill in 2000. She created a '2- hander ' script for performances in the Downham area, based on the original 1991 script and additional interviews. The scenes were interspersed with discussion with the audience. The shows were performed in community centres, libraries and sheltered houses for older people. It also played to many of the local schools and in this case, the scenes were interspersed with participatory workshops exploring the issues facing the characters.
This set of performances was part of a regeneration project to support inter-generational understanding on the local estates and funded by the London Borough of Lewisham.
