End Of The War

On May the 8th 1945, the surrender of German forces prompted jubilant celebrations all over Europe.  No bigger celebrations were seen than those of London, with neighbours throwing street parties and thousands heading down the mall to view the Royal family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.  End of the War was created using reminiscences preserved within the Reminiscence Theatre Archive and explored the memories of locals on V.E. day itself and in the years after. The film clip below is from a performance at Bill Walden Sheltered Housing Unit, and the photos underneath are of a performance at The Old Baths, Woolwich.
