A photographic record of the event
A group of school students from Dresden worked with Matthias Neutzner to prepare a piece of theatre based on the stories of wartime they had heard from their grandparents and other older people. In October 2015, they came to London at the invitation of the European Reminiscence Network, to learn more about reminiscence theatre and to perform their work in progress.
At the University of Greenwich the Dresden school students performed alongside Drama students from the University and older people from the Greenwich Pensioners Forum. All the plays were enjoyed by students and local older people. The Dresden school students also visited the Maritime campus of the University, hosted by the History department. There they participated in a practical inter-generational drama workshop with Pam Schweitzer, and socialised with the older people from the pensioners’ forum. This photographic record by Matthias Neutzner follows their journey from Dresden to London and back and their experiences along the way.
