Memory Grand Challenge

October 2016

‘The Memory Grand Challenge: Exploring Links between Reminiscence in Dementia Care and Oral History’ was a seminar held in October 2016 at the University of Greenwich. It was led by members of the Oral History Society who had participated in the Training and Apprenticeship scheme in Reminiscence in Dementia Care. At the event Oral Historians including Dvora Liberman, Sarah Gudgin and Padmini Broomfield discussed their experience along with family carers, considering the significance the work held for the families as well as what it meant for themselves. There was lively discussion of what combining the two approaches might entail in the future for dementia care.
