Remedies and Recipes: Caribbean Reflections on Health and Diet Book

Remedies and Recipes: Caribbean Reflections on Health and Diet was a booklet first published in 1987. It focuses on home remedies and folk medicines that are traditionally used in rural ares. This book was created with the help and contributions made by Afro-Caribbean elders who had moved to the UK. The elders shared their memories of healthcare from cultivation, cures for common cold and ailments, diet and cooking and reflections on visiting the doctor in the UK and the Caribbean.

The reason this book has been placed within the Can We Afford the Doctor production is due to the interesting contrast and comparisons that can be made between the two.
