The Thames River in the early 1900s was still a bustling centre of industry and was the workplace for many people in the South East London area. A Docker’s Life recounts the difficult and often dangerous work undertaken by dockers, as well as looking back at their childhood memories by the river. The film clip below is from a performance at Bill Walden Sheltered Housing Unit, and the photographs underneath are of a performance at The Old Baths, Woolwich.
